Dr. Grant Brown
The Faculty of Arts and Science is widely recognized for its accent on interdisciplinary thinking in teaching, training, research and research-creation. Uniquely among Concordia’s four faculties, Arts and Science research activity is supported by funding from all three Tri-Council agencies, CIHR, NSERC, and SSHRC, their Quebec counterparts, FRSQ, FQRNT, and FQRSC, as well as leading public and private entities, both national and international.
Home to a large community of renowned researchers across a wide spectrum of fields, the Faculty hosts internationally-recognized research centres of excellence in Computational Chemistry, Learning and Performance, Structural and Functional Genomics, Oral History and Digital Storytelling, and Human Development. In addition, the Centre for the Study of Behavioural Neurobiology is the only Quebec research centre in a non-medical faculty that is funded by FRSQ.
These research strengths are integral to our goal of providing leading-edge graduate education and training in more than 35 PhD and Master's programs that we offer in the humanities, social sciences, and life sciences.
