The purpose of University academic appraisals is to "improve the quality and relevance of academic programs offered by the universities at all levels and in all academic sectors, with a view to fostering their further development".
Guidelines for academic appraisals have been mutually established by members of the Conférence des recteurs et principaux des universities du Québec (CREPUQ) as a means of program self-renewal to maintain high quality programs and to fulfill public trust in Québec universities.
Based on this general province-wide policy, Concordia has developed appraisal guidelines specific to the needs of its University community.
Download the Academic Program Appraisal Manual [PDF, 440 KB]which outlines the appraisal process or consult the online version of the Academic Program Appraisal manual on the Provost's website.
CREPUQ guidelines governing University Academic Appraisals require all faculty currently teaching courses within a program under review to submit a curriculum vitae. Access the online Academic Appraisals Curriculum Vitae Forms.
The results of the appraisal process are made available to the University community. In addition, a summary of strengths and recommendations for remedy of weaknesses where appropriate, as reported by the University Academic Appraisal Committee, are posted for public scrutiny.
