The Faculty of Arts and Science, in conjunction with the Vice President, Research and Graduate Studies, provides a number of internal funding opportunities in support of research activity.
Each year, the Faculty and VPRGS hold seed funding competitions with grants up to $20,000 to support collaborative and individual research and research-creation projects.
In addition, the Faculty and VPRGS hold twice yearly calls for Aid to Research Related Events, Publication, Exhibition and Dissemination Activities which supports the organization of conferences, hosting of guest speakers, as well as other forms of scholarly production.
The Faculty and VPRGS also provide competitive funding for Facilities Optimization projects that enable researchers to upgrade equipment and infrastructure in key sectors.
The Faculty of Arts and Science also provides start-up research and capital equipment funds to newly hired faculty, and up to $1000 in annual conference travel funding for full-time faculty.
